All board members sign a pledge to donate a monetary gift yearly. Robert Devoy, President, has been a volunteer supporting Pershing Park Memorial Association, Inc. since the 1960’s and has been Secretary and now President of PPMA. Robert is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He has been a member of the Missouri Bar since 1955 and engaged in the private practice of law for twenty-eight years; served seven terms as a member of the Missouri General Assembly; was elected to two terms as Linn County Prosecuting Attorney; served twelve years as Presiding Judge of the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Missouri and sixteen years as Senior Judge. Jerry Dale, Vice-President served in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps 1968 to 1970. He returned to North Missouri to attend Truman State University. He served as a Police Officer in Brookfield, Missouri before becoming a Special Agent BNSF Railway Police in 1978. Jerry retired in 2012 and now serves his community in several arenas. Gail Turner, Treasurer, is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Masters degree in Secondary Education. He has worked for the Bank of Brookfield-Purdin for 31 years, 20 of which as President/CEO. He is active in church, Rotary, YMCA, Pershing Memorial Hospital Board, Brookfield Board of Adjustment, and is a former state Grand Master of the Missouri Masons. Alicyn Ehrich is a retired Choir Director from Laclede. She and her husband have four children and three grandchildren and all are active in the Laclede United Methodist Church. She taught at Linn County R-I for ten years and at Brookfield R-III for twenty years. She continues to be active in Black Jack Theater, Linn County Community Chorus, Pershing's Pride 4-H Club, P.E.O., Missouri Laureate Kappa sorority, Tourist Club, and Countryside Federated Garden Club. She has also served on the Pershing Days Committee for more than thirty years. Kenneth Stark, Lieutenant Colonel, US Army retired, is a native of Linn County. He graduated of Truman State University then completed 22 years of active duty. Ken served as an instructor at West Point for four years and the Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth for three years. A Desert Storm combat veteran, his decorations include a Bronze Star and six Meritorious Service Medals. Following active duty, he worked as a Department of the Army civilian for five and a half years. Elaine Duncan is a retired secondary school teacher after which she worked for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and as a college recruiter. She is a fiber artist, and enjoys exhibiting historical crafts at fairs and festivals. She has served in leadership positions in P. E. O. International, church, 4-H and other community projects. Debbie Eggering lives in Laclede and holds a Masters of Arts degree in clinical psychology specializing in neuro-psychology, closed head injury testing and assessment. She currently works as the Clinical Director at North Central Missouri Mental Health Center. As Director, she is responsible for administering all components of community-based services including psychotherapy, case management, medication services and crisis intervention to individuals with situational, acute and chronic diagnoses. She also provides orientation, training and supervision for clinical staff. Bill Eggering, Colonel, US Army retired was Born 4 July,1943 in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1967. Masters Degree in German Language and Literature from Middlebury College, 1974. After 26 year Army career, contract administrator for Northrop Grumman, finally retiring for good in 2013 and resides with his wife Debbie in Laclede. Denzil Heaney is administrator of the General John J. Pershing Museum in Laclede. He has a degree in Military History from Fairmont State College, Fairmont, WV. Before coming to Missouri, he served as a curator and archivist of the Whittier Historical Society Museum, Whittier, California and museum clerk in Tempe and Mesa, Arizona. Denzil currently serves as a member of the US Army Reserve. June Lamme, Laclede, served as an Extension Specialist for the University of Missouri Extension Services for 33 years. She then taught school 5 years. June later opened a travel and tour company where she conducted guided group tours throughout the United States and several foreign countries for another 33 years. June has been involved in community activities for many years. John Meneely is retired from Prudential Agricultural Investments, a division of The Prudential Insurance of America. During his 34 year career, he was responsible for the company’s debt and equity agricultural investments. John resides in rural Livingston County near Chillicothe, Missouri. Jane Devoy Milford is co-owner of “Milford’s Service Station” and "Nu-Rest Bedding Factory" in Laclede, along with her husband Terry. Jane is the financial manager of their businesses with full automotive repair shop and convenience store, along with a mattress factory where they build regular and customer size mattresses. Jane is involved in community organizations, has served on her local church parish council a board member of the Fulbright Museum in Sumner and past treasurer for Pershing Park Memorial Association. Bob O'Dell, a native of Linn County, served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, then worked as a Department Manager for Churchill Truck Lines for 30 years before retiring to a farm west of Bucklin, Missouri. Bob is active in the VFW and has served as a Regional Officer for the Grand Lodge of Missouri Masons. Marion Ryan graduated from Laclede High School in 1949 and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He has lived in the Laclede area since 1940 and spent his working years in construction of elevated steel tanks. In 1993 he retired to community service activities. Marion has always been interested in General Pershing and has visited his grave in Washington D. C. twice. Jim Tollerton, is a graduate of Northern Arizona University. He is a small business owner in the Laclede area and is an active participant in the museum and annual Pershing Day’s activities. He has served as President of Missouri Game Bird Association and President of Tri-County Association of the Handicapped. Jim is the head of the Model T ambulance committee. Will Tollerton, graduated from Truman State University with a degree in History. He served two years as archivist for the National Guard Museum in Jefferson City and currently serves as director of the “Bushwhacker Museum” in Nevada, Missouri. Will, as a volunteer, has created educational photo displays for the Pershing Museum and has served as secretary for the PPMA. Ralph Thomas, Ralph Thomas, graduated from New Cambria High School in 1966 and entered the United States Air Force in 1967, remaining 23 years.Ralph was an air traffic controller for ten years and an airborne pathfinder (combat controller for 13 years). He served two years in South Vietnam from 1969-1971. Thomas was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal. After retirement from the Air Force, he completed college at the University of Missouri-Columbia receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources. Ralph retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections in 2014 as a Probation and Parole Officer. He has been active in the American Legion serving as Commander, Finance Officer, and Adjutant of Bucklin Green Hills Post 57, Past Commander and current Adjutant of American Legion District Two.Jody Munsterman, is a resident of Brookfield with her two young children. She has been the former Treasurer of the PPMA and a longtime member of the board. She had seven years of experience in data processing in a local bank until she made the decision to be a “stay-at-home mother”. |
